What is the power of Sound Bowl Healing?

Sound Bowl Healing is an ancient & unique form of therapy. The technique is still popular to this day. Today, it’s one of the most sought-after alternative therapies in India & in the West. It heals the body & mind through the vibrations created from the sounds of singing bowls & other instruments. When the bowls are struck with a soft mallet, they release different frequencies. This can change depending on the bowl’s size & diameter.

 

What is Sound Bowl Healing?

Sound bowl healing is often practiced in the form of sound baths. A sound bath is a healing ritual using instruments from around the world.

The sound waves released by the bowls & other instruments to induce a feeling of deep relaxation & healing. Some also use crystal sound bowls. The special healing energies in these crystals are released when the bowls are played. A few of the instruments used apart from sound bowls can include flutes, pan flutes & gongs.

In a sound bowl healing session, you will be asked to lie down or sit in a comfortable position, whichever you prefer. The sound healer will play the instruments while asking you to keep your eyes closed. Sound bowls are usually made from brass, metal alloys, or quartz crystal. The sound healer will strike the bowl first. Then, they’ll run their mallet around its rim to release the soothing sounds.

While doing this, they may also heighten your relaxed state through guided meditation or visualizations. Different healers often combine sound bowl healing with other alternative healing techniques. Along with crystal bowls, they may use Reiki, crystals and essential oils to enhance the experience.

How to prepare for your appointment?
Wear clean, loose-fitting, comfortable clothing. You may wish to wear natural fabrics: cotton, linen or silk. Remove your shoes, jewelry, glasses before your session & keep your phone switched off or leave it behind.

What is a typical Sound Bowl Energy Healing appointment?
A typical session can last between 30-90 minutes. At your first appointment, you'll meet with your Sound Bowl Energy Healer. You'll have a short introduction about the process, your expectations & intentions. Let your Sound Bowl Energy Healer know of any symptoms you want addressed or any places in your body you want to be focused on. Also, let your Sound Bowl Energy Healer know if you have any injuries or places that are sensitive to touch. You'll be instructed to lie down on a treatment table or sit down in a comfortable chair. They will cover you with sheet/blanket. Soft, relaxing music will be playing in background. For the most part there won't be any talking during session, but you can feel free to let your Sound Bowl Energy Healer know if there's something you need to feel more comfortable or to share your experience.

The Sound Bowl Energy Healer will move their hands around your head/body if they include Reiki within your appointment. They may touch you lightly or have hands just above your body. You may experience sensations in the body (i.e.: heat or tingling). Some even see visualization as colors, pictures or having memories appear. Try to allow whatever arises to pass without attaching too much meaning to it. Your experiences may become deeper the more you continue with Sound Bowl Energy Healing.

Just about anyone can benefit from sound bowl healing. Sound Bowl Healing has many benefits, ranging from mental health to physical health. However, if you have a pacemaker, we unfortunately can not perform Sound Bowl Energy Healing on you. If you have screws or pins in your body, be sure to inform your Sound Bowl Energy Healer, as the frequencies will feel different for you.

 

What to expect after your appointment?
Drink plenty of water after your session. Some people feel calm, peaceful, tired or energized. Aftercare instructions will be emailed to you after your session. You will receive a follow up phone call/text the day after your session with Ali.
